“Many people claim to find it impossible to believe or to imagine that they won’t exist after death. Just try it for a second. Imagine that everyone in Paris right now is getting along fine without all of us. None of us are in Paris. We are really, really materially absent from whatever is going on in every other city on this planet right now. You were absent for all of human history before your birth. The idea that you simply can’t imagine not existing after death is really for lack of trying.”—Sam Harris (via cocknbull) (via danielholter)
“Anyone can become angry—that is easy. But to be angry with the right person, to the right degree, at the right time, for the right purpose, and in the right way—this is not easy.”—Aristotle (via kari-shma)
“Now make a fist, and if your fist is as big as the nucleus of an atom then the atom is as big as St paul’s, and if it happens to be a Hydrogen atom then it has a single electron flitting about like a moth in an empty cathedral, now by the dome, now by the altar.”—Tom Stoppard
What is wrong with the admission that something exists beyond our understanding?….if you ask me I’ll say nothing. I’m always ready to have faith in supernaturals. But brainwash? please keep that for yourself.
Let me tell you the basics of religion. Doubt and Terror. Doubt is the last shred of control in every religion. It is doubt that brings souls to religion. Our need and longing to know that life has a meaning to it. Man’s insecurity and need for an enlightened soul assuring him everything is part of a masterplan. But not the high chapels of a church nor the great dome of a mosque are the only enlightened souls on this planet. We all seek God in different ways. What are they afraid of? That God will show himself somewhere other than inside their walls? That people will find him in their own lives? and leave the antiquated rituals behind? religions evolve! The mind finds answer, the heart grapples with new truths. God is not some omnipotent authority looking down from above, threatening to throw us into a pit of fire if we disobey. God is the energy that flows through the synapses of our nervous system and the chambers of our hearts! God is in all things!
some parts are from “Angels & Demons” by Dan Brown
Well the start is always slow and idiotic. Just like how the very first episode of every single sitcom sucks or just like how the first step of a baby is so wobbly and unsecure. This is my first post. Here we go,…wobbly and idiotic.
